5 simple diy project that will add value

Homeowners can transform their kitchens all at once or through mini projects over a period of time and realize the same result, and the following tips are designed to help you create your perfect kitchen remodel regardless of the method you choose, ensuring you'll love the resulting look.  1. Back splash: Not to be neglected or taken for granted, a well designed back splash can be a huge eye catcher and really spruce up the whole look of your kitchen. There are plenty of DIY materials for a colorful and unique back splash, and a kitchen remodeling contractor will provide you with an even larger variety of ideas and styles that will be custom designed for the look you want. The back splash can be made from glass tile, ceramic tile, stone, porcelain, and a number of manufactured materials, all of which come on a meshed sheet for easy application. You can construct a mosaic or patterned look that complements or contrasts the other colors and styles in your kitchen remodel.  2.Mirrors: Putting a mirror in the kitchen can make any size kitchen feel much larger. A mirrored back splash will lengthen the kitchen countertop without diverting the eyes. Mirrors can also make a narrow or long kitchen seem wider and more airy. Consider a mirror in a display cabinet, especially if there are decorative items to showcase. Any mirror will reflect light, and putting in a mirrored display cabinet next to the ceiling can cause the whole kitchen so appear more open.
3.Display cabinets: A display cabinet can brighten and enliven a kitchen by displaying unique or decorative kitchen pieces for an artsy feel. If your kitchen is tall, a display cabinet can be installed right below the ceiling to take up empty space and provide visual excitement. Even short kitchens, however, can benefit from a display cabinet, especially if there are vibrant or personalized items that can be seen.  4. Paint: Paint is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to get a updated look in any kitchen. A couple of cans of paint and all of the painting supplies will cost well under $100 and the result can be a significant change. Kitchen walls can be painted, and your kitchen cabinets can be painted a contrasting color for a spirited new look. Be sure to use a glossy paint because kitchens will eventually need a bit of cleaning, and glossy paint can be sponged without losing its shine.  5.Lighting: Updating your kitchen lighting is one of the most effective ways to adjust the look and feel of any kitchen. Proper lighting can prevent a kitchen from looking dark or dingy, and a single centered light bulb is sure to look unpleasant. The right light and lighting fixtures will increase the effectiveness of any future additions you make to your kitchen, bringing out undertones and natural reflectors. Putting in a bay window will bring in plenty of natural light, while track and accent lighting illuminates every corner of your kitchen, giving you the ability to work wherever is most convenient. A new fixture or two can even help strengthen a particular style or theme for your kitchen.
   6. Cabinet refinishing: When your cabinets visibly need work but might not necessarily need to be replaced, especially if the available storage is adequate for your needs, cabinet refinishing can be the perfect solution. Cabinet refacing completely changes and updates the outward appearance of your kitchen cabinets for a whole new look at a fraction of the cost of replacing your cabinets. You can make a contrasting look with the walls of your kitchen and your new cabinets, or change solid cabinets to display cabinets.  7. Cabinet hardware: For a subtle yet impressive look in any kitchen remodel, new cabinet hardware can create a whole new look. The theme of your kitchen can be finished off through cabinet hardware, from Victorian era crystal knobs to modern minimalist layout. Or mix and match pieces from a collection for an eclectic yet unified look. Cabinet hardware will be noticed as soon as you reach up to open a cabinet or drawer and can evoke more complements than many other features in a kitchen remodel.
